Warm walls on water heating: heating a house on low-temperature circuits
Is it possible to efficiently heat a house using only low temperature heating? It will be about year-round heating with warm floors. Most of our compatriots doubt this decision. And this is quite objective. Water underfloor heating is not able to maintain a constantly high temperature in the premises during the period of low temperatures outside. What can not be said about a similar technology - these are warm walls with water heating.
Unlike floors, the temperature of the coolant in warm walls can be raised to + 70 ° C. However, this may not be required. The technology copes with heating houses in the low-temperature range. The disadvantages of the solution include the problem of installing furniture along the walls and careful use of wall decor so as not to damage the heating circuit.
The advantage of thermal walls is a favorable climatic atmosphere. Heat transfer is carried out by the method of radiant heat exchange, which makes the person in the room feel comfortable. High heating efficiency allows you to reduce the temperature by 1-2 degrees, which provides savings in heat consumption up to 10%. Low convection means that there is practically no dust circulation in the room.
Today warm walls, floors and ceilings are the most demanded technology in Europe, which in practice provides great heat savings.
Sources of technology
Warm walls were originally installed in hamams to heat Turkish saunas. Subsequently, the technology was very successfully used for space heating. On sale there is a special cable for thermal walls, which allows you to maintain fairly high temperature indicators of the coolant.
The warm walls of the hamams partly convey the experience of the Roman hypocaust. This is a special type of stove heating, as a result of which the heated smoke passed into the cavities of the walls and floors, heating the ceramic bricks. In fact, the hypocaust was a huge stove under the house with a system of channels for heating it in the winter. Its analogue is the Korean ondol, which in turn repeats the design of the Russian stove with a stove bench.
Nowadays, warm wall technology allows you to install hidden heat sources and make "radiant" walls that maintain a comfortable atmosphere in the room. This heating method is recommended in gyms, saunas, living rooms and rooms where, due to the nature, furniture is not installed along the walls.
Features of installation of warm walls
Warm walls are connected to the heating system through a low temperature circuit and a heating manifold. It is recommended to use thermoregulated fittings in each individual heating loop. The setting can be done manually and with a room thermostat. The heating water circuit is attached to the walls using specialized plastic fasteners. Subsequently, the contour is closed with plasterboard or plaster.
The installation of the pipe on the walls is carried out with different steps. More often at the bottom and with an increase in the step to the top. This is due to the rise of air masses to the top and the creation of a temperature of + 20 ° C at the level of human growth. Above this mark, less heating is required.
In baths and saunas, such heating of the room can be carried out using a copper pipe. The heat transfer will be much more intense. However, such a decision dramatically increases the cost of implementing a heating project.
Room temperature regulation can take place automatically, depending on the climatic parameters outside. The use of warm floor and wall technology requires the deployment of a climate control system. This, on the one hand, increases the cost of implementation, on the other hand, increases the level of comfort.
Applying the technology of radiant warm walls in practical examples
As a result of all-round radiant energy that radiates heat, a favorable atmosphere is created for the human body. A similar solution is often used in a number of premises:
- in children;
- bedrooms;
- bathrooms.
First of all, where the installation of traditional heaters is ineffective or does not meet the goals and objectives. Warm walls are made in kindergartens and school gyms. This solution allows you to ensure a uniform temperature in rooms for sports and games without drafts.
With a combination with a warm floor, in addition to thermal walls, the child comes into contact only with warm surfaces, can play peacefully on the floor. Arranging heating in toilets and bathrooms allows you to quickly heat up the room before taking a bath.
The contour of a warm wall is the most favorable solution in frame housing construction and in conditions of a lack of wall thickness for thermal insulation. In this case, the warm walls also protect the building from collapse, as the dew point shifts to the outside of the façade wall.
Warm wall technology requires high-quality wall insulation to protect against heat loss.
Warm walls can partially solve building design problems. This solution is effective in humid areas and allows you to ensure normal room humidity, and at the same time dry the walls.
If you decide to install warm walls in a room using electromagnets, this creates a fairly strong electromagnetic field.
Other areas of application of the technology
Low temperature heating scheme for warm walls and floors
Connecting wall heating circuits to the heating system is similar to connecting underfloor heating. A design feature of the piping is a significant increase in the complexity of the wiring due to the appearance of additional collectors. For this reason, warm walls and warm floors are implemented in different heating circuits. It also allows for easier off-season handling. For example, turn on only warm floors, with wall heating connected during a cold snap.
The peculiarities of connecting to a heating boiler include temperature control in the heating circuit. In low-temperature systems of warm floors and walls, heating does not exceed 40-45 ° C. If the coolant is supplied from a solid fuel boiler, then the temperature is 95 ° C, and "in the return line" is not less than 60 ° C. To supply the coolant with a cooler, collector wiring is provided with temperature control in the circuit using a thermostat and a pumping group. These features of preparation are implemented in the form of a specific thermal scheme.
When supplying a cooled heat carrier to the circuits, you can quickly reduce the temperature in the room. This solution is an alternative to air conditioning. To reduce heat loss, it is recommended to install a ventilation system with heat recovery. The tasks will include the circulation of air in the room in order to reduce inefficient energy consumption.
Low-temperature heating circuits are used for space heating in conjunction with solar systems, with heating of the coolant due to an additional heat source. A small demand for electricity can be satisfied with the power of solar panels.
Solid fuel boilers FOCUS with a modulating burner, they can change the temperature smoothly without discomfort and maintain low temperature values of the heat carrier. It can be used to control up to 10 climate control sensors to microcontroller Plum EcoMAX... At the same time, it is better to organize heat supply for low-temperature circuits when connecting the boiler to the heating system through a buffer tank (heat accumulator). In this case, maximum savings and technological heating of the boiler circuit "on demand" of the system are achieved.
