Any combustion of fuel is a process of ignition of pyrolysis gases released during the combustion of wood, coal, pellets and any other carbon raw materials. Combustion chamber design
The FOCUS solid fuel boiler is designed with operation in mind pellet burner, for the installation of which in the FOCUS heating equipment there is a door adapter. The design of the firebox assumes the presence of two doors, which implies its use as a classic solid fuel wood-burning boiler, with the ability to work on wood, briquettes, coal and pellets.
Thus, the combustion chamber of the FOCUS boiler is adapted for burning wood (any solid fuel) and pellets. The combustion process and automatic fuel supply during operation of the pellet burner is controlled microcontroller PLUM, allowing to connect up to 10 sensors. When installing a pellet burner in a solid fuel boiler FOCUS and supply of pellets from the pellet hopper, the buyer receives a pellet boiler room at a lower price with the efficiency of heating equipment 95%.
The main combustion product is "bulk" hot air. In addition to efficient combustion of fuel, the boiler must provide heat convection of a large volume of hot air. For these purposes, the heating equipment is equipped with a developed heat exchanger built into the structure of the furnace.
Many solid fuel boilers use cast iron heat exchangers. Heating the metal with a high heat capacity improves the efficiency. Steel heat exchangers also provide good convection, especially in cases of special design solutions.
The FOCUS solid fuel boiler has a combined heat exchanger. Originally a plate type, also used as an ash filter. The main convection of hot air is provided by a horizontal fire-tube heat exchanger, as the most efficient and often used in industrial and pellet boilers.
The design of the heat exchanger assumes that the movement of gases from the burners is fast enough for efficient heat exchange.
The possibility of using fuels with high ash content and cleaning the boiler is ensured by its design. A plate heat exchanger is used to sediment the bulk of the ash, which can be easily removed. Serial version of solid fuel boilers FOCUS focused on operation with an ash pellet. The heating equipment is equipped with a fire-tube heat exchange circuit without turbulators (*), which are quickly brought in by ash during the active movement of flue gases from the flare burners and complicate subsequent operation.
Afterburning of pyrolysis gases
Full combustion of pyrolysis gases released during heating of solid fuel reduces the volume of ash emitted and the level of contamination of heating equipment during operation. For the combustion of high-ash fuel, as well as problematic grades of coal (DG grade) and biogranules of lignin with an ash content of 15-17% in FOCUS solid fuel boilers, a classical approach is applied. The air supplied to the combustion chamber is divided into primary and secondary. Primary air is fed under the grate to ensure fuel smoldering. Secondary is supplied above the fuel for afterburning pyrolysis gases and maximizing smoke reduction (underburning of gases).
The ecoMAX860P TOUCH sensor automation regulates the air supply to the pellet burner and the solid fuel boiler separately, taking into account the different operating modes of the equipment. This approach implies a wide range of automatic settings.

The body of the FOCUS solid fuel boiler is made of 092GS carbon steel, which is resistant to corrosion and has increased strength compared to general-purpose steel. Boiler steel grades are not produced in Ukraine, but the design of the boiler implies a balanced thermal load.
The boiler body is made of 4 mm steel, the inner lining is 6 mm, and is reinforced.
The doors of the combustion chamber, ash pan and heat exchanger are thermally insulated and do not pose a danger to workers in the process of fuel combustion in the furnace. As a result of a well-thought-out engineering solution, the thermal loads of the boiler are within a safe range. On the outside, the doors are coated with gray heat-resistant powder paint.
