Backup boiler (definition)

Backup boiler - This boiler, which is used in a heating or hot water supply system as a backup heat source. Its main function is to provide heat in case the main boiler fails or cannot cope with the load.

Backup boiler: features

  • Power reservation: is activated only when necessary, for example, in the event of a breakdown of the main boiler, maintenance, or during peak loads.
  • Boiler types: any type of boiler can be used as a backup – gas, electric, solid fuel, depending on the configuration of the heating system.
  • System efficiency: Using a backup boiler increases the reliability of the heating system, which is especially important for facilities with high requirements for a constant heat supply (e.g. hospitals, industrial facilities or large residential complexes).

A backup boiler helps to avoid interruptions in heat supply and ensures stable operation of the entire system even in unforeseen situations.
