Warm floor — is a heating system in which the heat source is the floor surface. The main task of warm floors is to evenly distribute heat throughout the entire area of the room, creating comfortable conditions for the inhabitants.
Warm floors: types
- Water heated floors — are a system of pipes through which hot water circulates. The pipes are laid in the floor screed and connected to a heat source such as a boiler or heat pump. This system is effective for large rooms and can be used as primary or additional heating.
- Electric heated floors — include heating elements such as cables, mats or films that are laid under the floor covering. Electric systems are convenient for installation in small rooms or when quick installation is required. They can be used as primary or additional heating.
Advantages of heated floors:
- Comfort and uniform heat distribution - heated floors provide a more comfortable feeling of warmth, as heating occurs from the bottom up, evenly distributing heat throughout the entire area of the room.
- Energy efficiency - Underfloor heating systems operate at lower temperatures than traditional radiators, which can reduce energy consumption and heating costs.
- Freedom of interior design — the absence of radiators and other visible heating devices allows for a more flexible approach to interior design.
Disadvantages of heated floors:
- Complexity and cost of installation — installation of heated floors, especially water-heated ones, requires significant investments of time and money, as well as a professional approach.
- Limitations in the choice of floor coverings - Not all types of floor coverings are suitable for use with heated floors, so it is important to choose materials carefully.
Application of heated floors:
Underfloor heating is widely used in homes, apartments, offices and commercial buildings. It can be installed in any room, including bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms, providing comfort and efficient heating throughout the year.
They represent a modern and effective solution for creating a comfortable microclimate in rooms, combining the advantages of energy efficiency and aesthetics.
Installation Features
Electric versions are used more often in apartments where there are difficulties in supplying the coolant from the general house heating system. Water heated floors require collector wiring low-temperature heating circuit. This is implemented with the help of indirect heating boilers, three way valve and, accordingly, pumping groups on heating circuits. The underfloor heating circuit can be adjusted manually and with the help of thermostat.
