Convector (definition)

Convector — is a device for heating rooms that works on the principle of convection, that is, heat transfer through air movement. The main task is to heat the air, which, rising upward, displaces cold air, creating circulation and evenly distributing heat throughout the room.

Convector: main components and operating principle

  1. Heating element — the main component that is heated by electricity or hot water. Electric convectors use tubular electric heaters, while water convectors use tubes with circulating hot water.
  2. Frame — metal or plastic, protects the heating element and directs air flows. The body usually has grilles for the outlet of heated air and the intake of cold air.
  3. Thermostat — a device for temperature regulation, allows you to set and maintain a given temperature in the room.

Principle of operation:

  1. Air heating - cold air enters the convector through the lower grilles and passes through the heating element, where it is heated.
  2. Air circulation - heated air rises and exits through the upper grilles of the device, creating natural air circulation in the room.
  3. Even heat distribution - as the warm air rises, it displaces the cold air, which again enters the convector, ensuring a constant process of circulation and uniform distribution of heat.

Advantages:

  • Energy efficiency - heat up quickly and provide efficient heat distribution.
  • Safety — equipped with overheating protection and automatic shutdown when the set temperature is reached.
  • Easy to install and use — easy to install and do not require complex maintenance.

Application:

They are widely used in residential, commercial and industrial premises. They are suitable for heating rooms, offices, educational and medical institutions, shops and other premises. Convectors can be wall-mounted, floor-mounted or built-in, which allows you to choose the best option for specific conditions.

The devices are an effective, safe and convenient solution for heating various types of premises, providing comfortable and uniform heat distribution.

These devices may differ in the type of heating, you can use an air convector with a water coolant in heating systems. Systems ventilation help recirculation thermal energy. These devices are suitable for systems such as HVAC.
