Climate control in systems with a solid fuel boiler - practical solutions
As we told you last time, installing a heat accumulator allows you to make the heat supply to the heating circuits more uniform over time and heat the rooms throughout the day in accordance with the required temperature indicators. There is also, so to speak, a minimal version of how to make basic climate control in systems with a solid fuel boiler.
However, this is not the only option; adjusting the thermal circuit without a heat accumulator is possible if you have a pyrolysis boiler, automation of a solid fuel boiler, or an automatic pellet boiler installed in your system. Climate control in non-regulated circuits
We talked about this option separately. It is characterized by the presence in the heating system of a heat accumulator. With its help, the heat obtained when heating the boiler is accumulated in a separate tank and consumed gradually. At the same time, with the help of thermal valves it is possible to set the exact room temperature. Climate control in systems with a solid fuel boiler is an affordable and fairly easily implemented technology. In addition to the option with a heat accumulator, an installation scheme with a secondary heating boiler is used for hot water supply and heated floors.
Climate control in solid fuel boilers with manual loading
It is solid fuel boilers with manual loading (these can be stoves or fireplaces with a water circuit) that have an initially unregulated heating circuit. The natural circulation system implies the presence in the system of a heat source, an expansion tank, piping located on a slope and the batteries themselves. Such systems are good because they operate completely autonomously, the coolant circulates under the influence of gravity and thermodynamic forces, and can heat the house OFFGRID. But their main disadvantage is that the heat is uneven.
To make heating uniform, hydraulic piping is done with a heat accumulator, which we discussed earlier. You can connect several boilers to it, and also get a hot water supply system in one solution. But a system with natural circulation can be made more convenient and somewhat controllable. First of all, it will be convenient when the room temperature drops. For these purposes, an electric boiler can be connected to the system. It is obvious that an electric boiler can perform basic climate control functions.
If the power of the solid fuel heat source is not enough, then the electric boiler will supplement the heating circuit and regulate it in accordance with temperature indicators. It will operate at full power when the solid fuel boiler is not working.
If you think that connecting a solid fuel boiler controller to the system will give results, this is not true. These controllers regulate the temperature in the circuit and keep them at a constant value. This is due to the difficulty of control, since combustion can only be maintained by air supply from the blower. The temperature in the circuit has constant values due to the supply of water from the make-up. This improves operational safety parameters.
Climate control in systems with an adjustable solid fuel boiler
Organization of climate control in systems in hybrid systems with PLUM brand automation. Automation for air conditioning. available for purchase in our online store.By adjustable solid fuel boiler we mean systems with microcontroller control. In conventional manually loaded boilers, adjustment is complicated due to the imprecise amount of fuel in the combustion chamber. This drawback is absent in pellet boilers; formally, these are solid fuel boilers with a pellet burner. It is its operation that is controlled by the microcontroller, usually this is:
- auto ignition;
- combustion intensity controlled by primary and secondary air;
- combustion intensity, regulated by the supply of pellets to the burner.
Microclimate modules can be connected to the microcontroller, and temperature sensors and radiator valves can be connected to them. Typically, the kit includes a touch panel that allows you to monitor the temperature in the rooms and create heating scenarios. Climate control in systems with a solid fuel boiler most accurately implements its functions in systems with a pellet burner.
