Connecting automation for climate control: equipment and capabilities

With the exception of elementary solutions that were shown in our previous publications on climate control, where the connection of automation for climate control is carried out only on the basis of the built-in capabilities of the main controller, heating systems are designed for many circuits. It is these solutions and methods of connecting automation that will be discussed.

Cascade connection of boilers through the Ecoster panel

Multi-circuit heating very often involves not only the connection of several boilers with different energy carriers, but also the cascade connection of functionally identical heating equipment. If you carefully read the material on our website, then it is often said that with a cascade connection, the total power of the boiler room can reach 2.5 MW. Of course, automation of a home and a powerful boiler room of a production or utility company is carried out using different equipment, but using the example of a home it will become clear how to do this.

Cascade Boiler Regulator

First of all, the automation for climate control is connected to the boiler microcontroller or additional modules. One of these modules is the modified EcoSter room touch controller offered in our store. We offer you both hydraulic piping and a diagram for connecting several boilers in one cascade system. This system implements the connection of two pellet boilers working with water heating circuits and an indirect heating boiler for domestic hot water.

Scheme of cascade connection of several boilers

The peculiarities of the cascade connection of boilers include the fact that the boilers operate on a common coolant supply and return line, distributing thermal energy along heating circuits, which are regarded as independent automation units.

If necessary, you can connect expansion modules and the necessary automation to these nodes. According to this scheme, a country house with independent water heating circuits or a communal boiler house that distributes heat to 7 houses or 7 entrances can be serviced.

Connecting automation in an apartment with central heating

There is also a corresponding offer for connecting climate control with heat supplied from central heating. Room regulator EcoMax360 can work with central heating in the apartment and provide heat regulation in each individual apartment. This type of regulator is specifically designed for connecting apartment heating systems and deploying climate control.

Connecting thermostats, sensors and panels

After selecting and connecting functional elements, you need to select and connect devices. To understand how to do this, just look at the illustration. The proposed range includes wired and wireless sensors and thermostats, which differ only in installation and method of organizing communication. If you choose wireless sensors, you will need Internet and a WI-FI module. With the Internet module, you can control the climate control remotely from your mobile phone.

Connecting heated floors

Maintenance of the heating system can be carried out through a thermal buffer; in this case, a low-temperature circuit for heated floors is connected to the system. It is automated using a series EcoFloor. The system again includes sensors, thermostats, underfloor heating actuators and a touch control panel.

The general principle of connecting PLUM automation is demonstrated in the illustration.
