Calorific value<\/strong> \u2014 is the amount of heat released during the complete combustion of a certain amount of fuel boiler<\/a>. This indicator is measured in joules (J) or kilocalories (kcal) per unit of mass (for example, per kilogram) or volume of fuel (for example, per cubic meter).<\/p>\n

  • Lower calorific value (LCV)<\/strong>: Takes into account only the heat released during combustion of fuel without taking into account the latent heat of vaporization of water that is formed during combustion.<\/li>\n
  • Higher calorific value (HCL)<\/strong>: Takes into account the total amount of heat released, including the heat released during condensation of water vapor in the combustion products.<\/li>\n
  • Dependence on fuel type<\/strong>: Different types of fuel (e.g. wood, coal, natural gas) have different calorific values, which is important to consider when choosing fuel for heating systems or power plants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
